R.A.F. Boxted is a former Royal Air Force Station Esses England.

Opened in 1943, used by U.S.A.A.F. 8th Air Force and 9th Air Force.
Also known as U.S.A.A.F. Station AAF-150, station code BX.

U.S.A.A.F. Station Units assigned to R.A.F. Boxted were:

33d Service Group (VIII Air Force Service Command)
41st and 45th Service Squadron; HHS 33d Service Group.

15th Station Complement Squadron.

1030th Signal Company.

1126th Quartermaster Company.

1181st Military Police Company.

1631st Ordnance Supply & Maintenance Company.

2124th Engineer Fire Fighting Platoon.

589th Army Postal Unit.

368th Bombardment Group (Medium)

354th Fighter group.

After the war the airfield was used by the R.A.F. for jet aircraft testing. It was closed in 1947.

Today the remains of the airfield are located on private property being used for agricultural, there is also a small private grass airstrip. A museum opened in 2011.
